  About Anne R. Coyle
My Testimony

Greetings, my name is Anne Coyle

I was born in Washington D.C. to Catherine and Garrett Reilly , my Father was a Dentist. I had an older brother Garry and my sister Elinor. I graduated from St. Martins Grade School and headed to Georgetown Visitation Convent for High School, afterwards I attended for a short period Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. That didn’t last long as I soon found out I was a very little fish in a big pond. I attended University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Hygiene with my sister Elinor. We graduated in 1949.
That’s when I met my future husband Jack Coyle from Jacksonville Florida. He came to Washington to attend Georgetown after the War. When I first saw him, I said to myself that’s the man I’m going to marry. Of course I didn’t tell him that! We were married on February 3,1951 , we just celebrated our 60th Anniversary. It has been good. We have nine children, fifteen grands and 5 great-grandchildren. We are blessed .

In 1972 I met Jesus Christ . He changed my life forever and turned me upside down.
I had gone to Church all my life and loved God very much but I knew there was something missing in my life. St. Augustine said ”The heart is ever restless until it finds God”. I always thought when I die and go to heaven then I will be at peace. Little did I know that God had a plan for my life, I just didn’t understand it at the time.

I attended a Charismatic Prayer Meeting at a private home, I was some what apprehensive and thought charismatics were a little odd. At the meeting I was very impressed by the joy in all the people. They carried Bibles and sang and celebrated their love for the Lord. They spoke in tongues which I wasn’t going to have any part in.

After the meeting I prayed, Lord if you want me to, I will go back once more. I don’t believe in just reading the first page. At the next meeting the people didn’t look quite so crazy. I had been reading the Scripture and it said ‘Raise your hands on high” and “they spoke in other tongues”. I started attending prayer meetings.

In February of 1973 at one of the meetings I asked to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist said of Jesus “There is one coming after me that will baptize in fire." I recall sitting in a chair and all gathered around me, laid their hands on me and started praying and singing in tongues. I opened my hands and offered myself to God, repented of all my sins and asked Jesus to come and baptize me. Well this is what happened.

I didn’t want to speak in tongues. I thought it was crazy and un-necessary ( shows how little I knew). When the group told me to open my mouth and start uttering sounds, like baby sounds. You know how a baby tries to call “Dada”. I refused to yield to the Holy Spirit, my pride stood in the way.

Finally the Lord spoke to me (it was the first time I remember hearing him)
"Anne, will you be a fool for me?"
I said “Yes Lord “.
With that the flood gates opened wide and I started singing in tongues, I have not stopped since then. I fell in love with Jesus and his Word. I wanted to practically eat the Word, I started memorizing the scripture particularly in singing the Word.

I belonged to the Joyful Prayer Fellowship with Tom Edwards as Leader. Tom is a world wide Catholic Evangelist now, he started his ministry in our living room at our Tuesday Morning Prayer Meetings.
In 1979 The Lord opened the windows of Heaven again to me and gave me His gift of writing music. Up to that time I would play Bach and Beethoven and all Church Hymns but had never even desired to compose.

The first song that I wrote was Welcome Stephanie Into The House of The Lord. Our granddaughter was being baptized and my son Garry said we could help with all the preparations, I decided to write a song. Incredible. It was sung then and has been over the years. Music started flowing, my friend Carol and I gave concerts to praise the Lord, each of us presenting the music that God had given us.

The first Children’s musical was Praise Academy. It was so wonderfully received that we went on the road to present it. Other musicals followed, I wrote a one woman presentation called Thru Mary’s Eyes telling the story of Jesus’ birth thru the eyes of His Mother.

At my 80th Birthday in 2009 the Lord told me the best was yet to come. I remembered the Feast of Cana, after Jesus had blessed the water and it turned into wine the Steward said “You have saved the best till last”.....Yes He has.

Since then He has opened my eyes to a greater understanding of His purpose and Plan, not only for me but all. How He loves us and has spiritual gifts for us.

Now He has given me the great honor of writing music to 150 Psalms. My cup overflows (Ps.23) Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them”  Another translation says - We are truly His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to lead the life of good deeds which God has prepared for us in advance.

I believe God had a plan , a plan which He had prepared in advance, waiting for me to walk in them which included these 150 Psalms ,which were written 3000 years ago, being written in song for this generation, over the web for all people and all times. I am His instrument because truly this could never happen without His Song.

Jesus changed my life, He has been with me over the years and makes my heart glad. If you don’t know him, surrender your life, repent and ask Him to come and live with you. He is at the door waiting because He loves you, even to death.
